SCRANTON (PA) – Delaware Valley College scored two goals in the opening 8:14 of the game, but host Marywood University rallied for a 4-2, non-conference victory.
The Aggies (0-4) wasted no time in reaching the scoreboard as, with 5:44 gone,
Dana Gentile scored from close range for her second goal of the less. Less than three minutes later, it was freshman
Kara Fecanin's turn as she took a rebound off a corner kick and notched her first collegiate goal.
However, it was all Pacers (1-2) the rest of the way as they tied the game midway through the half thanks to tallies by Caitlin Light and Lisa Hanselman. Erin Doyle then scored what proved to be the game-winning goal with 4:13 to go in the first half, and Light added another early in the second stanza for the 4-2 final.
The Pacers finished with a 36-7 advantage in shots. Delaware Valley's Elizabeth McQuillan was credited with 10 saves while Meghan Coyle and Dominique Kozuch combined for one save at the other end.
