DELVAL ENDS '09 CAMPAIGN WITH SETBACK TO MANHATTANVILLE

DOYLESTOWN (PA) – Holly Nonis recorded a hat trick as Manhattanville College, ranked fourth in the latest NSCAA Mid-Atlantic Region poll, won its 12th consecutive game with a 6-0 triumph over Freedom Conference foe Delaware Valley College.

It was the season finale for the Aggies, who notched a 1-13 overall record and a 1-6 mark in the conference. The team honored its lone two seniors - Ashley Gagliano and Jackie Minnich – on Saturday. Meanwhile, the Valiants, who will be the top seed in the upcoming Freedom playoffs, continued their best season in program history as they improved to 16-1-1 overall and a perfect 7-0 in the conference action.

Bailey Flood opened the scoring for Manhattanville less than 18 minutes into the contest. Later in the half, Nonis scored a pair of goals just seven minutes apart for a 3-0 advantage. The Valiants then struck for two more tallies in a 94-second span late in the first half as Brittney Smith and Cybil Robinson found the back of the net. Nonis scored the lone goal of the second half and completed her hat trick with 27:47 remaining.

Freshman Elizabeth McQuillan was credited with 12 saves for Delaware Valley. Manhattanville's Ali Bromson did not have to make a save (the one Aggie shot was not on goal), en route to the shutout.
