Marissa Di Miero and
Bethany Pavlik notched second-half goals as Delaware Valley College improved to 2-0 in the Freedom Conference with a 2-0 blanking of host Manhattanville College.
The win snapped a two-game losing streak for the Aggies as they improved their overall record to 7-5. The Valiants fell to 5-6 overall and 0-2 in the Freedom.
After a scoreless first half, Delaware Valley got on the board just 2:49 in the second as off a corner opportunity, Di Miero deflected a shot by
Rony Jacober past Manhattanville goalkeeper Melissa Barry. It was the junior's fourth goal of the season.
It remained 1-0 until there was 10:47 left when Pavlik scored her ninth goal of the year and the 44th of the senior's career off an assist from
Mindy Miniconzi.
Delaware Valley held a 15-11 advantage in shots while the Valiants had a 10-8 edge in corners.
Hollis Hancock stopped seven shots and earned her third shutout of the year. Barry had nine saves in the loss.
