AGGIES DROP 5-0 DECISION TO WILKES

DOYLESTOWN (PA) – Wilkes University stayed in contention for a Freedom Conference playoff berth by notching a 5-0 road victory over Delaware Valley College on Sunday afternoon.

The Lady Colonels improved their record to 6-7-3 overall and 2-2-2 in the Freedom. They are in fifth place just half a game behind FDU-Florham (3-2-1) for the final playoff position. The Aggies fell to 1-12 overall and 1-5 in the conference.

Wilkes found the net three times in a 13-minute span in the first half for a 3-0 advantage. Julissa Reed notched her seventh goal of the season at the 12:18 mark while Jenna Sargent (19:53) and Megan Clementson (25:10) netted their fourth goals of the year. Taryn Hallowell had assists on two of the tallies.

Christina Stepansky scored both second-half goals for the Lady Colonels, who outshot Delaware Valley 25-4. Samantha Rohn had three saves for the shutout while Elizabeth McQuillan made 11 stops for the Aggies.
