DOYLESTOWN (PA) – Eastern University scored three goals in the first nine minutes as the defending Freedom Conference champions cruised to a 7-0 victory over host Delaware Valley College.
The Eagles, who reached the NCAA Division III Elite Eight a season ago, improved their record to 6-5-1 overall and 2-0-1 in the conference. The victory was also the 100th in the coaching career of Dan Mouw. The Aggies fell to 1-9 overall and 1-2 in the Freedom.
Eastern needed just 2:42 to get on the scoreboard as Jillian DiRenzo notched her 11th goal of the season off an assist from Bethany Engle. DiRenzo then assisted on Tess Beckwith's fourth goal of the year just 51 seconds later. Beckwith found the net again with an unassisted tally for the quick 3-0 lead.
