AGGIES RALLY FOR 2-1 TRIUMPH

GLENSIDE (PA) – Delaware Valley College scored two goals in a 51-second span late in the game as the Aggies rallied for a 2-1, non-conference victory at Arcadia University.

With the win, Delaware Valley improved to 8-3 on the season. The Knights, who moved to the Commonwealth Conference after spending last year in the Freedom, saw their record fall to 3-7.

The Aggies appeared headed for their second straight loss as they trailed 1-0 in the final minutes. However, senior Michelle Cernobyl tied things up with her team-best 16th goal of the year with 3:25 remaining.

Delaware Valley headed right back into Arcadia's end of the field and Danielle Heyne set up Bethany Pavlik for the junior's third goal of the season. That tally came with just 2:34 to go, but Arcadia had a corner opportunity with no time remaining on the clock. However, a shot attempt went off a teammate to end possession and give the Aggies the win.

Delaware Valley held a 21-11 advantage in shots and a 9-8 edge in corners. Jackie Deschenes was credited with three saves and the win while Brittany Rasmussen notched 13 stops for the Knights.
