Men's Cross Country

DELAWARE VALLEY FARES WELL AT BELMONT CLASSIC

PHILADELPHIA (PA) – The Delaware Valley College cross country team competed at the Belmont Classic on Saturday. The Aggie women placed fourth out of 17 teams while the men took sixth out of 19 squads.

The women earned 98 points to trail only Ursinus College (65), Philadelphia University (66) and Catholic University (98). Caitlin Dorgan and Brittany Schwartz led the Aggies to that finish as each placed in the top four out of 150 runners. Dorgan, a sophomore, was the runner-up with a 5K time of 19 minutes, 36.05 seconds while Schwartz, a junior, took fourth with a time of 20 minutes, 4.1 seconds. Meghan Hunsicker had a strong showing as well as her time of 21 minutes, 36.72 seconds was good enough for 25th place.

The Delaware Valley men registered 159 points with Felician College taking top honors with 51 points. Junior Chip Brumbaugh was the top Aggie finisher as he placed 11th out of 167 competitors with an 8K time of 28 minutes, 14.58 seconds. Freshman Rico Borrero was 15th with a time of 28 minutes, 28.20 seconds while Kevin McCoy was two places back with a time of 28 minutes, 32.14 seconds.
