AGGIES BLANK GWYNEDD-MERCY, RUN UNBEATEN STREAK TO SIX

GWYNEDD VALLEY (PA) – The Delaware Valley College women's soccer team extended its unbeaten streak to six games as the red-hot Aggies registered a 2-0, non-conference shutout at Gwynedd-Mercy College.

Delaware Valley continues its best start in program history as the squad is now 8-1-1, including a 5-0-1 mark in its last six contests. The unbeaten streak is the longest since the 1996 edition went 7-0-1 during a stretch late in the year. The Griffins fell to 5-7.

The Aggies hit the scoreboard with 21:22 remaining in the first half as Emily Perryman notched her second goal of the season off an assist from Dana Gentile. It remained a 1-0 contest until late in the second stanza (6:56) when Elise Carpenter gave Delaware Valley breathing room with her third tally of the year. Elise Dauber picked up the assist on the play, giving the reigning Freedom Conference Player of the Year at least one point in nine of the 10 games this season.

The Aggies held a 17-4 advantage in shots, including a 10-1 advantage in the first half. Cortney Bower stopped all four shots to earn her third solo shutout and fourth overall of the year. Kristie Pollock was credited with eight saves for Gwynedd-Mercy.
