SLIPPERY ROCK (PA) – The Delaware Valley College cross country team competed at the Slippery Rock University Invitational on Saturday. The Aggie men placed 17th out of 22 teams while the women were 20th out of 29 teams.
Delaware Valley was one of the few Division III teams at the invitational. UC San Diego took top honors in the men's competition with 52 points (Aggies had 500) while Slippery Rock headed the women's field with 107 points (Aggies had 518).
Chip Brumbaugh was the top Delaware Valley finisher on the men's side as he was 90th out of 237 runners with an 8K time of 28 minutes, 3 seconds. Kevin McCoy took 111th with a time of 28 minutes, 34 seconds while Rico Borrero was 118th with a time of 28 minutes, 44 seconds.
On the women's side, Caitlin Dorgan was clocked at 23 minutes, 40 seconds on the 6K course and finished 35th out of 193 runners. Brittany Schwartz placed 56th with a time of 24 minutes, 11 seconds.
