GLENSIDE (PA) – Delaware Valley College and host Arcadia University battled for 110 minutes and had to settle for a 1-1, double-overtime tie in the non-conference contest.
The Aggies continued their best start in program history as the standstill moved their record to 6-1-1. The Knights, who moved to the Commonwealth Conference after a year with Delaware Valley and others in the Freedom, saw their mark go to 5-4-1.
Elise Dauber gave the Aggies a 1-0 lead just three minutes into the game as the reigning Freedom Player of the Year (and Player of the Week) got loose for a breakaway and notched her conference-best 11th goal of the season.
For more than 70 minutes, that goal stood as the lone tally of the game. However, Arcadia evened things up with 9:18 remaining as Jamie Bradford sent a blast from the top of the box over Delaware Valley goalkeeper Cortney Bower's head. Both teams had four shots in the extra sessions but neither squad could find the net.
The Aggies held an overall advantage of 15-10 in shots. Bower finished the afternoon with four saves while Jennie Groves recorded nine stops for the Knights.
