DOYLESTOWN, Pa- Delaware Valley men's soccer ends up falling 0-4 against Haverford losing their win streak.
Haverford took control of the opening half and put pressure on the Aggies defense with many early chances. Aiden Lane made many early saves in the opening 15th minutes but Haverford broke through in the 16th minute when Vanni finished a feed from Lee to give them the 1-0 lead. Aggies get the chance with a corner kick from Roy Hevener but was unsuccessful to find the back of the net. The Aggies looked to respond and earned corner kicks from Roy Hevener and Gianluca D'Alterio, but Haverford continued to create opportunities. In the 41st a corner kick was made by Gianluca D'Alterio and Josh Difillapo took a shot but Haverfords defense was on it and blocked the shot.
In the second half Delaware Valley generated chances from Karl Kowula, Roy Hevener and Gianluca D'Alterio, but Lee doubled Haverfords lead in the 60th minute. In the 66th minute Elijah Purtle took a shot but was high. Haverford added another goal in the 72nd minute making it 3-0. Haverford eventually added a fourth goal in the 89th minute. Delaware Valley made many substitutions to try and get more shots but was unable to do so. Lane finished with multiple saves in the contest as Haverfords pressure proved difficult for the Aggies to overcome.
Even after the lose, the previous win streak set a new program record for consecutive shutouts. Setting a new record with 4. DelVal is back home Saturday, September 19th at 5 p.m. against Lehman College.
