DALLAS, Pa. – The Delaware Valley women's lacrosse team faced a tough road challenge at Misericordia, falling 17-0 as the Cougars controlled play from the opening draw.
Misericordia set the tone early, scoring eight goals in the first quarter and adding four more in the second to take a commanding 12-0 lead into halftime.
DelVal was limited offensively, finishing with 12 shots and three on goal.
Piper Jones recorded the Aggies' lone shot on goal of the first half, firing an attempt with just under two minutes remaining.
The Aggies found some rhythm in the middle quarters, generating eight combined shots across the second and third.
Abbie Hostetler and
Katie Martin each created scoring chances in the second half but were unable to break through.
Defensively, DelVal showed resilience despite the scoreline, with goalkeeper
Emily Drake making 10 saves on 37 shots faced. Misericordia maintained its balanced attack after the break, adding five goals over the final two quarters to secure the shutout.
The Aggies return to action on Wednesday, April 15, hosting DeSales at 4 p.m.
