DOYLESTOWN, Pa. - Delaware Valley split their doubleheader with Lebanon Valley but secured the series victory with a narrow 9–8 win in game one after dropping the nightcap, 13–2.
Game 1: Delaware Valley 9 – Lebanon Valley 8
The Aggies struck first in the opening inning on a sacrifice fly from Braedyn Kormanic, but Lebanon Valley answered with two runs in the second on RBI hits from Satterfield and Berry to take a 2–1 lead.
Delaware Valley responded in the third, capitalizing on defensive miscues to score three unearned runs, including Matteo Viola stealing home, before Kody Boyer added an RBI single to make it 5–2.
Delaware Valley continued to build its lead in the fourth, plating three runs behind RBI hits from Liam Martin, Nathan Fisher, and Viola to extend the advantage to 8–2. Lebanon Valley chipped away with a solo home run from Berry in the fourth, but the Aggies added another run in the sixth on a double play to push the lead to 9–3.
Lebanon Valley mounted a strong comeback in the seventh, scoring five runs on a combination of wild pitches and timely hitting. RBI singles from Burger and Palmieri, along with a two-run single from Santora, cut the deficit to one.
With the tying run on base, Andrew Cullinan entered and recorded the final outs to earn the save, preserving the win for Patrick Flynn as Delaware Valley held on for the 9–8 victory.
Game 2: Delaware Valley 2 – Lebanon Valley 13
Delaware Valley opened the scoring in the first inning as Gavin Migliori came home on a caught stealing play, but Lebanon Valley quickly took control. The visitors scored twice in the third to take the lead and added two more in the fourth, aided by a Delaware Valley error and a wild pitch.
The game broke open in the fifth inning when Lebanon Valley erupted for six runs on six hits. RBI contributions came from Teehan, Santora, Berry, Palmieri, and Phillips, as the lead ballooned to 10–1.
Lebanon Valley continued to add on in the sixth, drawing multiple walks and taking advantage of hit batters to score three more runs and extend the lead to 13–2.
Delaware Valley managed just two runs on eight hits, with Jared Ecenroad driving in a run in the sixth. Lebanon Valley's Smith earned the win, tossing six innings while allowing two runs and striking out eight.
Despite the lopsided loss in game two, Delaware Valley secured the series victory by taking two of three games overall. The Aggies head to St. David's on Tuesday, April 14th, where they will take on Eastern University at 3:30 pm.
