DOYLESTOWN, Pa. – The Aggies started their conference series against Stevens, who used timely power hitting and a dominant start on the mound to defeat Delaware Valley, 7–2.
After a scoreless first, Stevens struck first in the second inning when Wolf launched a solo home run to right field. The Ducks extended their lead in the fourth as Fishbough connected on a two-run homer to make it 3–0.
DelVal answered in the bottom of the fourth.
Gavin Migliori reached on an error and eventually scored on a fielder's choice off the bat of
Matteo Viola to cut the deficit to 3–1. The Aggies added another run in the fifth when
Kody Boyer came around to score during a strikeout and caught stealing sequence, making it 4–2 after Stevens plated an unearned run earlier in the inning.
Stevens extended its lead in the sixth inning as Fishbough delivered again, this time with an inside-the-park two-run home run. The Ducks added one more in the seventh on a solo shot from Balewitz Jr.
DelVal finished with six hits in the game, including contributions from
Nathan Fisher,
Lucas Santise, and
Taylor McKeta, while continuing to apply pressure on the bases.
Patrick Flynn started on the mound for the Aggies, working six innings for 5 strikeouts.
Ben Boyer gave relief and finished out the game.
Stevens was led offensively by Fishbough, who drove in four runs, and received a strong outing from starter Sibbach to secure the win.
The Aggies continue the series Saturday March 21 in a double header at Stevens in Hoboken, NJ.
