Hostetler Paces Aggies to Victory at Home Over Eastern

DOYLESTOWN, Pa. – The Delaware Valley women's lacrosse team put together a dominant second-half performance, shutting out Eastern over the final 30 minutes to power past the Eagles, 13–3, on Saturday afternoon.

After nearly seven minutes of scoreless action to open the contest, the Aggies broke through when Charley Lengel-Kramer buried a free-position shot to give DelVal a 1–0 lead. A yellow card on Eastern moments later granted another free-position opportunity, and Emmy Gagnon capitalized to double the advantage. Gagnon struck again two minutes later, pushing the Aggies ahead 3–0. Eastern managed to answer late in the quarter with a pair of goals, trimming the deficit to one heading into the second.

DelVal controlled the early pace of the second quarter, holding a 3–1 shot advantage through the opening four minutes. Lengel-Kramer fired home her second goal of the afternoon to restore a two-goal cushion at 4–2. The teams traded possessions for much of the frame before Gabriella Guerra snapped the scoring drought with her first tally of the day. Eastern added a goal in the final minute of the half, sending the teams into the break with the Aggies holding a 5–3 lead.

Abbie Hostetler erupted for six goals after halftime, sparking a dominant DelVal surge. She opened the third-quarter scoring with two goals just 1:22 apart to stretch the lead to 7–3. Hostetler wasted no time in the fourth quarter, scoring only 13 seconds into the frame before adding another seven minutes later.

The Aggies continued to pour it on as Daisy Kovacs and Guerra scored 25 seconds apart to extend the lead to 11–3. Hostetler capped her standout performance with two more goals—one coming directly off the draw and another on a free-position shot—to seal the 13–3 victory.

Hostetler finished with a game-high six goals on 17 shots, including 15 on cage. She also tied Gagnon and Guerra for the team lead with seven ground balls. Guerra and Hostetler recorded DelVal's two assists, while Piper Jones paced the Aggies at the draw with a team-high four draw controls.

DelVal returns to action on Wednesday, March 18, when the Aggies host Manhattanville at 4 p.m.
