Aggies Improve to 3-0 After Rosemont Sweep

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - The Aggies returned to action today with a double header against Rosemont College after starting the season off with a convincing 16-4 win over Wilson College. By the end of the day, the Ravens were seeing double after the Aggies swept them to improve to 3-0 for the season. Today's wins see the Aggies win their first three for the first time in a decade, dating back to 2016 with wins over Monmouth and Bethany in back-to-back doubleheaders.

Game 1 | Delaware Valley 5 – 2 Rosemont
The Aggies jumped in front early and never looked back. In the top of the first, Gavin Migliori was hit by a pitch to begin the game, stole second, and advanced to third on a single from Liam Martin. With Martin swiping second, Migliori stole home to give DelVal a 1–0 lead. Jared Ecenroad later added a single in the frame, but Rosemont worked out of further trouble.

DelVal added to its advantage in the second with Kody Boyer singling to left and stealing second before Eli Scott followed with a single to put runners on the corners. Both runners executed a double steal, setting the table for Pat Higgins, who tripled to clear the bases and make it 3–0. Migliori was hit by a pitch later in the inning, and Martin lifted a sacrifice fly to left to plate Higgins and extend the lead to 4–0.

On the mound, Travis Loewe was sharp through the first four innings, retiring the side in order in the first and third and striking out multiple batters to keep Rosemont off balance. The Ravens did not record a hit until the fifth inning.

Rosemont broke through in the bottom of the fifth, capitalizing on a pair of Delaware Valley errors. A single by Spinelli and consecutive RBI singles from Lykes and Bugman cut the lead to 4–2, but the Aggies limited the damage by stranding three runners.

DelVal answered in the sixth, with Boyer and Higgins being walked. With two outs, Martin reached on an error by the second baseman, allowing Boyer to score an unearned run and push the lead to 5–2.

James DeHaven entered in relief in the sixth and closed the door over the final two innings. The right-hander worked around a single in the sixth and a seventh-inning error, striking out the final two batters to seal the win.

Game 2 | Delaware Valley 7 – 4 Rosemont
The Aggies once again struck first in the opening inning. Nathan Fisher doubled to start the rally and advanced to third on a wild pitch before Ben Boyer brought him home on a run-scoring fielder's choice. An error later in the frame allowed another runner to reach, but Rosemont limited the damage to one.

DelVal added to its lead in the second, where Lucas Santise reached on an error and moved to third on productive groundouts before Pat Higgins drew a walk. Liam Martin followed with an RBI single to left, plating Santise for a 2–0 advantage.

Rosemont threatened in the fourth, stringing together a single and a double to cut the deficit to 2–1. The Aggies responded immediately in the fifth with their most productive inning of the game. Fisher was hit by a pitch to begin the frame, and Boyer delivered an RBI double to score him. After back-to-back hit-by-pitches loaded the bases, Santise singled to bring in another run. A ground ball double play allowed an additional run to cross, stretching the lead to 5–1.

The Ravens answered in the bottom of the fifth with five hits in the inning, including RBI singles from B. Peake and C. Spinelli, trimming the lead to 5–3. Delaware Valley turned to the bullpen to halt the momentum, and the pitching staff limited further damage.

In the seventh, the Aggies created separation through opportunistic play. Jared Ecenroad led off with a double and moved to third on a groundout. Santise was hit by a pitch, and a pair of passed balls allowed both runners to score, extending the lead to 7–3. Rosemont added one final run in the bottom of the seventh on an RBI single before the Aggies retired the game at 7-4.

Today marks a first career win for Sophomore Travis Loewe's collegiate career. The Aggies are back at it tomorrow with a rescheduled game against Penn State Brandywine in Media, Pa.
