The Aggies kickstarted the 2026 spring season with a 16–4 opening day win against Wilson College. After falling to Wilson, 12–5, in last year's opener, Delaware Valley flipped the script under new Head Coach
Jimmy Gulden.
Delaware Valley struck early and often, taking a quick lead in the first inning.
Gavin Migliori began the rally with a walk before
Jared Ecenroad brought him home with an RBI fielder's choice.
Liam Martin later advanced to score on a Wilson error, giving the Aggies a 2–0 advantage after one.
On the mound, Loewe got the opening day start and set the tone. The right-hander struck out five over 3.0 innings, allowing limited hard contact while working around a pair of baserunners. He mixed in strikeouts with routine outs to keep Wilson from building early momentum before turning it over to the bullpen.
After Wilson pushed across a run on a sacrifice fly in the second, DelVal responded in the third with a five-run inning built on patience and timely hitting.
Nathan Fisher was walked and later joined on base after a single by Ecenroad. The Aggies loaded the bases through a combination of singles and walks before
Nathan Fisher delivered an RBI single to center. With traffic on the bases, Delaware Valley continued to apply pressure as consecutive walks forced in runs, and an RBI hit-by-pitch brought home another to stretch to a 7-1 lead.
The Aggies' offense broke the game open in the seventh. Fisher once again reached with a single to start the rally, and a walk put two aboard before Ecenroad lined a three-run double into the gap.
Kody Boyer later drew a bases-loaded walk to bring in another run,
Eli Scott added a sacrifice fly to center, and
Pat Higgins followed with a two-RBI double. An error in the inning allowed the 16th run to score as Delaware Valley combined singles, extra-base hits, walks, and productive outs to plate nine in the frame.
Wilson added runs in the sixth and seventh on an RBI double by O'Brien and an RBI single from Chavera, along with an unearned run late. The Aggie bullpen limited further damage, stranding runners and closing out the 16–4 victory.
Delaware Valley returns to action Wednesday for a doubleheader at PSU Brandywine beginning at 3:00 p.m.
