Men’s soccer makes a comeback on senior day over Baruch

Doylestown, Pa- Delaware Valley over came a two goal deficit to earn a thrilling 3-2 comeback victory over Baruch.

Baruch came out strong in the opening half, taking an early lead in the 5th minute when Shaho found the back of the net off an assist from Kotronis. Baruch continued to pressure Delaware Valley and doubled its advantage in the 26th minute, as Jacob's scored with an assist from Oborina. Baruch carried the 2-0 lead into halftime after a dominant first half that included several shots on goal.

Delaware Valley came out with a completely different energy after the break. Everett Kurtz sparked the comeback in the 48th minute, finishing a chance assisted by Elijah Purtle to cut the deficit to 2-1. In the 61st minute Oborina from Baruch receives a yellow card. The pressure continued, and Roy Hevener leveled the match in the 62nd minute with an assist from Gianluca D'Alterio and Nathan Congdon. Just six minutes later, Amos Debah completed the comeback, heading into the final stretch with Delaware Valley holding a 3-2 advantage. A minute later, Aggies Karl Kowula received a yellow card and a minute after that Aggies Chris Reed received one as well. Both teams kept fighting then after a corner kick for another opportunity, Frenkel from Baruch received a yellow card. Many substuons were made from Baruch to take the lead back and shortly after in the 81st minute Aggies Zydan Stewart received a red card leaving the Aggies down a man on the field.

Baruch created opportunities late, but Delaware Valley held firm through the final whistle to secure the comeback win. After falling behind 2-0 at halftime, Delaware Valley scored three goals in the second half and showed tremendous resilience to walk away with a hard fought 3-2 victory on senior day.

With the win, Delaware Valley improves to a 5-2-2 overall. The Aggies will return to action on Wednesday October 7th home against DeSales University.
