Four Different Scorers Lift Men's Soccer Past PSU-Brandywine

MEDIA, Pa. — Delaware Valley men's soccer continued its hot start to 2025, defeating Penn State Brandywine 4-1 on the road Saturday behind four different goal scorers.

The Lions struck first in the 7th minute, testing Nick Becker, before the Aggies answered with three straight looks from Gianluca D'Alterio and Samuel Kaellefors, all turned away by the keeper. Brandywine's Garthwait was shown a yellow card in the 20th minute, and just a few minutes later, DelVal capitalized. Off back-to-back corners, Kaellefors buried a chance at 27:58, assisted by Justin Bennell, to give the Aggies the lead. Elijah Purtle had a pair of shots saved late in the half as DelVal carried the advantage into the break.

Early in the second half, Brandywine equalized when a foul in the box gave Warren a penalty kick, which he converted to tie the match 1-1 in the 50th minute. The Aggies responded in a big way, netting three goals in a 10-minute stretch. At 71:50, Amos Debah's shot forced a rebound that Kelvin Murray slotted home to put DelVal back in front. Three minutes later, Aaron Osborne doubled the lead off a setup from John DiFillipo. In the 81st minute, Roy Hevener added the final dagger to make it 4-1.

The closing stretch saw yellow cards issued to Brandywine's Warwick and Faulkner, while Everett Kurtz was booked for the Aggies. Becker finished with three saves in the win.

Following the result, Delaware Valley improves to 8-1 (0-0 MAC) on the season. The Aggies open MAC crossover play next Saturday, Sept. 27, at Stevenson University.
