Aggies Roll Past Penn State Scranton in 8-0 Shutout

DOYLESTOWN, Pa. – Delaware Valley University men's soccer picked up its second straight home win in dominant fashion, shutting out Penn State Scranton, 8-0. The victory marked the program's highest-scoring game since 2013.

After a quiet opening stretch, Roy Hevener put the Aggies on the board in the 11th minute when he slipped behind the defense and finished to the far post. Just two minutes later, Hevener turned provider, setting up freshman Zydan Stewart for his first career goal to make it 2-0.

The Aggies carried their momentum into the second half. In the 56th minute, Hevener broke through again for his second goal of the day and a 3-0 lead. Nathan Congdon joined the scoring in the 63rd minute, striking from inside the box, before freshman Eli Jackson added his first collegiate goal five minutes later to stretch the advantage to 5-0.

The goals kept coming as Gianluca D'Alterio buried one in the 72nd minute, and Stewart struck again in the 80th for his second of the match. Congdon capped off the offensive surge with his second tally in the 85th minute, sealing the 8-0 shutout.

Penn State Scranton's goalkeeper Thomas Kraintz made several stops throughout the match, but the Aggies' relentless attack proved too much. On the other end, Nick Becker and the DelVal defense turned away every attempt to preserve the clean sheet.

With the win, the Aggies improve to 2-0 on the season. They return to action at home in Doylestown on Saturday, September 6, against Penn State Berks
