DOYLESTOWN, Pa. – The Delaware Valley women's volleyball team welcomed Marywood to James Work Gymnasium for their 2025 home opener on Thursday evening. Despite a first-set victory for the Aggies', the Pacers came out on top 3-1.
Marywood got off to an early lead pulling ahead by seven, 11-3, to start the first set. An attack error shifted momentum in favor of the Aggies with a 9-1 spurt to even the score.
Cassandra Gloster led the comeback with four kills. The Pacers regained the lead two more times, with the Aggies able to even the score on both accounts. A kill from
Monique Smith started off a 4-0 run to put the Aggies ahead for the remainder of the set, ultimately outscoring the Pacers 5-2 to round it out.

Ariana Hernandez helped to put the Aggies on top in the second, 8-6. The Pacers quickly crept back in the game evening the score three times to put the Aggies in chase, 11-10. A kill from Logan Kai locked the score at 11 apiece, but the Pacers swiftly responded with a 12-0 run to take the lead, 23-11. DelVal managed four more points in the set, falling to Marywood 25-15.
The Pacers held the Aggies to just five kills and one service ace in the third set. Smith and Gloster led kill the efforts with two apiece while Logan added the fifth.
Nia Walker recorded the only service ace of the set. DelVAl dropped the set 25-16.
Offense picked up for the Aggies in the final set with eight total kills led by
Patricia Schwab with three. Smith tallied another two while Logan, Hernandez and Gloster each recorded one.
Mia Zadlo recorded the only service ace of the set for the Aggies. Marywood came out on top, 25-18, to win the set and secure the match win.
Gloster and Smith recorded a team-high eight kills each in the game. Gloster also added two blocks.
Madison Alexander was the top assister with 20 total. Walker led the defensive efforts tallying 16 digs and two service aces.
DelVal is back in action this weekend on Saturday, Sep. 13. The team travels to Rutgers-Camden for a trimatch against Bryn Mawr facing the Owls at 1 p.m. before taking on the host at 3 p.m.
