DOYLESTOWN, Pa. – The Delaware Valley University baseball team drops a non-conference game to the #2 ranked (MAC Commonwealth) Golden Wolves from Alvernia University.
After a scoreless first inning, the Golden Wolves quickly took a dominant 7-0 lead in the top of the second inning. With a runner on third, a single up the middle gave the Wolves their first run of the game. A ground-out and a triple scored two more. With two outs and five runs on the board, E. Thomas homered to left field.
Blake Ramos started the offense off for the Aggies in the bottom of the fourth inning with a stand-up double.
Nate Ludwick singled to left field scoring Ramos. The Aggies trailed by six. The Wolves scored three more in the top of the fifth off of four hits and one error.
The Aggies scored once more in the bottom of the fifth and the sixth inning.
Gavin Migliori singled through the left side and crossed home plate after Ludwick grounded out to the second baseman. After a strikeout,
Ty Gossel singled to center field and advanced to second base after a failed pick-off attempt.
Kody Boyer hit a sacrifice fly to center field to score Gossel. The Wolves still held the lead 10-3.
The Wolves saw another pitching change in the top of the seventh and proceeded to score two more runs. They scored once more in the top of the eighth inning after another sacrifice fly.
The Aggies' next game is Friday, April 25
th at 3:30 p.m. when they face the FDU-Florham Devils for senior day.
