Men's Lacrosse Suffers Conference Loss to FDU-Florham

MADISON, N.J. – The Delaware Valley men's lacrosse team suffered a 23-4 setback against FDU-Florham on Saturday afternoon, marking their sixth consecutive loss.

The Devils won the opening faceoff and found the back of the net just over a minute into the game, with Trisuzz scoring after an early save from Aggies goalkeeper Daniel Hickling. After a wide shot from Kieran Schneider on the following possession, FDU quickly extended its lead to 9-0 with 6:35 remaining in the first quarter.

DelVal broke the run when Schneider tallied the Aggies' first goal, followed by another from Owen Kelly less than a minute later. FDU closed the quarter with three more attempts, all of which missed the cage.

FDU controlled possession to start the second quarter, but the Aggies struck first thanks to a caused turnover by Aston Benkwitt, with Ryley Savering assisting Kelly for his second goal of the game. Despite the early momentum, the Aggies managed just one more shot in the quarter as FDU pulled away to a 15-3 halftime lead.

Hickling made three saves early in the third, including one off a shot that hit the post, but the Devils eventually broke through again. They stretched the lead to 20-3 before DelVal's Sean Miller and Luke Witko fired a pair of shots that went wide. Schneider placed one on target, but it was turned aside by the Devils' goalie.

In the fourth, Hickling made his first stop of the quarter, leading to another Aggie goal as Savering scored with Schneider picking up the assist. FDU closed the game with three goals in under two minutes, using possession play and the shot clock to wind down the clock and seal the 23-4 victory.

With the loss, Delaware Valley drops to 4-10 overall and 0-5 in MAC Freedom play. The Aggies return home for their final game of the season on Wednesday, April 23, when they host Stevens Institute of Technology at 7:00 p.m.
