Baseball Scores Early in Loss to LVC

ANNVILLE, Pa. – The Delaware Valley University baseball team scores three runs in two consecutive innings in loss to the Flying Dutchmen from Lebanon Valley University in the first game of their MAC Freedom contests.
 
The Aggies wasted no time in the first inning, taking a 2-0 lead. After Patrick Higgins drew a walk and advanced to second, Nate Ludwick singled down the right field line giving the Aggies their first run of the game. Braedyn Kormanic singled behind him, and with runners on first and second, Andrew Schneider singled to right center field which scored Ludwick. Their lead did not last long after the Flying Dutchmen had runners on first and second and scored two runs after a double and a sacrifice fly ball. The Dutchman took the lead after a single to left center, the score 3-2 after the first inning.
 
After an Aggie strikeout, Gavin Migliori reached first base after an error and then advanced to second on a wild pitch. Reese Hackett followed up with a single up the middle, tying the game at three. The Dutchman once again took the lead in the bottom of the inning after another double and a sacrifice fly. Lebanon Valley scored two more runs in the bottom of the third inning off of three hits. The Aggies ended the inning with a 6-4-3 double play.
 
After a scoreless fourth inning, the Aggies had runners on first and second in the top of the fifth after Ludwick singled and Kormanic walked, but they were left on base. The Dutchmen scored two more runs off of two hits and one error. They held the lead 8-3. They added one more run in the seventh inning off of three hits. The Aggies fought back in the ninth inning after Liam Martin singled up the middle and Kormanic reached on another walk. After a fielder's choice out at second, LVC took the victory 9-3.
 
The Aggies' next game is March 29th at 12:00 p.m. when they face the Flying Dutchmen in their MAC Freedom doubleheader contest.
