DOYLESTOWN, Pa. – The Delaware Valley University baseball team drops their MAC Freedom home opener to the Bulldogs of DeSales University 22-4.
After a scoreless first inning, the Bulldogs struck first, scoring five runs on four hits in the top of the second inning. After a lead-off double and two Aggie errors, DeSales took a 3-0 lead. With runners on second and third, the Bulldogs added two more runs after another double. DeSales added three more runs in the bottom of the third on three hits.
After a Bulldog pitching change, the Aggies looked to scored.
Jake Seibert had the first Aggie hit of the game, followed with a double from
Gavin Migliori. Unfortunately, they were left on base after two strikeouts. DeSales added five more runs in the top of the fourth, increasing their lead to 13-0.
Both DeSales and DelVal had a scoreless fifth inning, but the Aggies' bats came alive in the sixth. With an Aggie standing on first,
Liam Martin moved him to third with a double to right field. Both runners scored after
Blake Ramos doubled down the left field line. The Bulldogs still held the lead 13-2. With two outs in the bottom of the seventh and bases loaded, Ramos and
Nate Ludwick both singled, adding two more runs to the board.
The Bulldogs did not settle at 13 runs, scoring five more in the top of the eighth and four in the ninth. DeSales took their third conference win, 22-4.
The Aggies' next game is Friday, March 21
st for a MAC Freedom contest between the visiting Cougars from Misericordia University at 3:30 p.m.
