Baseball Returns to Win Column With Victory Over SUNY PolyTech

DAVENPORT, Fla. – The Delaware Valley University baseball team picks up their second win of the season over the Wildcats from SUNY Polytechnic Institute 6-3.
 
The Aggies wasted no time kick-starting their offense in the first inning. With runners on second and first, Nate Ludwick singled giving the Aggies a 1-0 lead. After two Wildcat singles, the Aggies turned a 6-4-3 double play to end the top of the second inning.
 
After two scoreless innings, Braedyn Kormanic and Daniel Murphy had back-to-back doubles, increasing their  2-0 lead. The Aggies scored three more runs in the bottom of the fifth inning after a homer from Ludwick with two runners on base. Lucas Santise started on the mound for the Aggies. He pitched five innings and recorded six strikeouts and allowed zero runs. The Wildcats fought back, scoring one in the top of the sixth on three hits. The Aggies still held the lead 5-1.
 
In the top of the eighth inning, the Wildcats saw another Aggie pitching change and scored two more runs on four hits. After a ground-out to end the top of the inning, Del Val scored one more run after Hackett hit another double. The Wildcats had runners on first and second in the top of the ninth inning, but with another double play and a strike out, the Aggies took the win 6-3. The Aggie pitching staff recorded 11 strikeouts.
 
The Aggies' next game is Sunday, March 16th at 12 p.m. when they host DeSales University in a double header for their home MAC conference opener.
