Abbie Hostetler led the Aggies in scoring netting one goal each in the 19-5 loss to Neumann on Tuesday evening.
Neumann took a big lead in the first quarter, tallying nine goals while holding the Aggies' offense to just a single shot in the frame.
Emily Drake made eight saves in the net off 22 shots faced.
The Knights nearly shut out DelVal in the second quarter, adding another four goals, but with the seconds winding down
Samantha Charles forced the turnover and collected the ground ball eventually finding the stick of first-year Hostetler. She completed the pass to Kovacs for the goal to put the Aggies on the board with just five seconds before the half.
DelVal kept the Knights to just one shot in to start the second half before capitalizing on another turnover.
Ashley Birmingham scooped up the loose ball for the clear.
Kyra McKeegan gained possession before passing it off to Guerra for the Aggies' second goal of the game. DelVal gave up two more goals to the Knights before Birmingham got her shot of the cage marking the third goal of the game for the Aggies. The Knights responded with two more to end the third period with the 17-3 lead.
The Aggies' defense began to find its groove with the defensive unit joining forces with goalkeeper Drake to hold Neumann to three shots and no goals in the first six minutes. McKeegan earned her second set-up of the game, finding Charles for the goals with 8:42 left on the clock. Hostetler followed up four minutes later with the unassisted score to mark the Aggies' fifth and final goal of the game.
Birmingham led the Aggies in shots with five and joined Kovacs in leading the team in shots on goal with two apiece. Charles scooped up a team-high four ground balls and forced three turnovers. Drake was the star of the show manning the net for the entire 60 minutes making 18 saves on 37 shots faced.
DelVal is back in action this Saturday, Mar. 1 at Robert A. Lipinski field when they host Albright in a 12 p.m. matchup.
