MEDIA, Pa – The Delaware Valley University Baseball team drops third game on the road to Penn State Brandywine 10-3.
With one out in the first inning,
Liam Martin drew a walk, giving the Aggies their first base runner of the game. With runners on second and third base,
Braedyn Kormanic grounded out to the Lions' shortstop, scoring Martin. With a Lion throwing error, the Aggies scored their second run of the inning. With bases loaded, the Lions walked in their first run, followed by two more after an Aggie throwing error. The Lions had the lead 3-2 after the end of the first inning.
In the top of the third, with a double down the infield line, Martin scored on a second Lions' throwing error. The score did not remain tied long, as the Lions put two more runs on the board in the bottom of the inning.
Derek Cannon pitched four innings allowing five runs to score and striking out two.
Lucas Santise replaced Cannon on the mound, drawing three back-to-back fly-outs to end the fifth inning. In the sixth inning, the Lions scored four runs on four hits before an Aggie pitching change.
Nick Covolus replaced Santise, curbing the Lions' scoring effort until the bottom of the eighth, where they scored one, increasing their lead to 10-3.
The Aggies' next game is Friday, February 28
th at 3:30 p.m. when they travel to Penn State Scranton.
