CHAMBERSBURG Pa. - The Delaware Valley University Baseball team dropped their first road game of 2025 to the Phoenix of Wilson college 12-5 Saturday afternoon.

For the Aggies,
Reese Hackett started off the game with a walk. Hackett advanced to second on a ground-out but was left on base following two more outs by the Phoenix.
Connor Esbenshade started on the mound for the Aggies with a strikeout looking.

John Dzielawa had the first hit for the Aggies with a hard-hit ball to second baseman. He stole second base, and then on a wild pitch advanced to third. With a ground-out to the shortstop, Dzielawa scored putting the Aggies up 1-0 in the top of the second inning. The Phoenix answered back with two back-to-back hits, along with a sacrifice fly to score two. Esbenshade pitched two innings, allowing two hits and two runs.

Wilson increased their lead in the third, scoring two with two hits and three walks. They added two more runs in the fifth with three hits. Â

In the sixth inning, the Aggies saw a pitching change for Wilson and struck back.
Blake Ramos started the rally with a single through the left side. With two Aggies on base, Dzielawa homers to left field, scoring three. Wilson answered back adding one run to their lead, the score 7-4.

With an Aggie pitching change in the eighth inning, bases were loaded for Wilson as a Phoenix homered to left field, increasing their score to 12.

The Aggies fought back, scoring one in the ninth with an RBI ground out by
Liam Martin.Â

With the loss, the Aggies fall to 0-1 on the season. Their next game is Monday, February 24
th at 3:00 p.m. where they will face the Griffins of Gwynedd Mercy University.
