Aggies Battle to 1-1 Draw at Desales

CENTER VALLEY, Pa. (October 4, 2025) – The Delaware Valley University men's soccer team earned a hard-fought 1–1 draw on the road at DeSales University Saturday afternoon, behind a standout effort from sophomore goalkeeper Nick Becker and a first-half goal from first-year Constantin Mahner.

The Aggies absorbed heavy early pressure from the Bulldogs, as Becker made multiple saves to keep the game scoreless through the opening 40 minutes. DeSales fired six corner kicks and four shots on target in the first half, but Becker stood tall in net, denying shots from Macdonald, Monroe, and Rohm.

DelVal broke through just before halftime when Roy Hevener sent a well-placed pass into the box that found Mahner, who buried it into the back of the net for a 1–0 lead at the 45-minute mark. The goal was Mahner's first of the season and Hevener's second assist.

In the second half, Becker continued to command the Aggie defense, adding several key saves on shots from Herbeling and Rohm to preserve the lead. The Bulldogs eventually broke through in the 79th minute when Macdonald capitalized on a feed from Reteneller to even the score at 1–1.

Despite multiple late chances from both sides, including shots by Gianluca D'Alterio and Zydan Stewart, neither team could find the winner. Becker finished with eight saves, while Shensky made five stops for DeSales.

With the result, Delaware Valley Mens Soccer sets a new program record; 39 goals in a seasons with 6 games to still play! The Aggies will return to action on October 11th at 4:00pm where they will travel to Lebanon Valley University.
