BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Delaware Valley women's soccer fell to DeSales University, 6-0, in their MAC Freedom opener on Saturday afternoon.
Nicole Ocejo was tested early, making a stop in the opening minute before the Bulldogs rang a shot off the crossbar. DeSales broke through in the 10th minute with a goal from Lane, then doubled the lead in the 27th after another Ocejo save. The Bulldogs added two more tallies before halftime to take a 4-0 advantage into the break.
DeSales kept the pressure on in the second half, netting goals in the 50th and 62nd minutes to extend their lead to six. Jenelle Frye entered in goal for the final 17 minutes and recorded four saves, while Piper Jones registered the lone shot on goal for the Aggies.
With the loss, Delaware Valley dropped to 3-7-1 overall and 0-1 in MAC Freedom play. The Aggies return to action on Saturday, October 11, when they travel to Lebanon Valley College.
