Women’s Soccer Falls 1-0 to Albright in Non-Conference Finale

DOYLESTOWN, Pa. – Delaware Valley women's soccer fell to Albright College, 1-0, on Wednesday afternoon.

Jarleny Aguilar-Acuna fired the first shot of the game wide before Albright banked one off the crossbar and sent another wide in the 10th minute. Fisher got behind the Aggies' defense on a pass from Landis and finished to put the Lions up 1-0. Rena Kotsedakis tried to answer, but her shot was stopped. Nicole Ocejo made her first save in the 25th minute, and both Aguilar-Acuna and Alexa DelGiudice had shots stopped before halftime as DelVal trailed by one.

Aguilar-Acuna nearly equalized early in the second half, but a defender raced back to clear her shot off the line. In the 80th minute, Jenna Green was dealt a yellow card in the box, but Denuto's penalty kick sailed high to keep the Aggies within reach. Despite a late push, Albright's defense held strong and prevented DelVal from finding another shot on goal as time expired.

With the loss, the Aggies fall to 3-9-1 overall. They return to action on Saturday, Oct. 18, when they host King's College for Senior Day.
