ST DAVIDS, Pa – The Delaware Valley University men's soccer team recorded their second tie of the season in a non-conference match-up against the Eagles of Eastern University.
Within three minutes, the Eagles took the first shot of the match, however
Aiden Lane dove hard to his right, stopping the shot from hitting the back of the net. After 15 minutes of back-and-forth action,
Jacob Luciani passed the ball to a wide-open
Roy Hevener for an Aggies 1-0 lead. At the 30
th minute, Lane kept the Aggies on top saving another shot. The Eagles had two back-to-back opportunities in the last minute but both shots were blocked by defenders.
At the 55
th minute, after three consecutive Eastern throw-ins and a freekick, they tied the score at 1-1. At the 72
nd minute, Lane made another save keeping the match tied. After five consecutive Del Val throw-ins with the Aggies pushing the ball up the field,
Pepijn Middel took a shot from
Prince Mugisha giving the Aggies back the lead. At the 86
th minute, the Eagles ultimately tied the game, making the score 2-2.
The Aggies next home game is Saturday, October 5
th, where they will host the Bulldogs of DeSales University for the first MAC Freedom conference game.
