PHOENIXVILLE, Pa - The Delaware Valley University men's soccer team's aggressive first half secured the victory against the Patriots of the University of Valley Forge during a non-conference match-up.
Three minutes into the match,
Danny Henson gave the Aggies an early 1-0 lead after a shot from
Kam Geiger that narrowly missed left. At the 10
th minute, Aggies' goalkeeper
Nick Becker had his first save, keeping the score 1-0. In the 17
th minute, after four missed shots,
Jacob Luciani increased the Aggies' lead to 2-0 with an assist from
Josh Difillipo. Two minutes later, Geiger saw an open
Amos Debah, who shot, and increased the score to 3-0. At the 31
st minute,
Zachary Zub put the Aggies up 4-0 with a solo shot. The Aggies out-shot the Patriots 12-3, with 6 shots on goal in the first half.
During the first five minutes of the second half, three different Aggies had scoring opportunities but none of them found the back of the net. At the 52
nd minute, the Patriots finally got on the board making the score 4-1.
The Aggies produced 20 total shots, 11 of which were on goal.
The Aggies' next game is Thursday, September 26
th when they face the Pioneers of William Paterson University at 7 p.m.
