DOYLESTOWN, Pa – The Delaware Valley University men's soccer team faced the Griffins of Gwynedd Mercy University in a non-conference match to record their first victory at home.
The Aggies had possession of the ball for the full first half of the match. They totaled 10 shots, with four on goal.
With an early corner kick, the Griffins had their first opportunity to score, only for the shot to sail high. The Aggies responded right back, with a shot by
Roy Hevener that was saved by the goalkeeper. Two minutes later,
Aiden Lane had his first save of the game using his head to keep the match scoreless.
Kam Geiger gave the Aggies another opportunity at the 72
nd minute with a header shot, but it was barely saved by the Griffin's goalkeeper. Five minutes later,
Danny Henson broke away, scoring the first goal of the game. Lane had three total saves to secure the victory.
