Bullpen Woes Cost Aggies Baseball Late, Falling to King's 10-7

Wilkes Barre, Pa. – After leading by four runs in the eighth, the Delaware Valley baseball team dropped the third and final game to King's College 10-7. Their record falls to 9-14 overall and 2-8 in the MAC Freedom Conference.

Connor Esbenshade got the start on the bump for the Aggies going 4.0 innings, giving up five hits and recording four K's. Reuben Costin came in to relieve him, tossing 3.0 scoreless innings with a lone hit.  

The Monarchs put one run on the board in the first before the Aggies rounded home three in their next time up. Andrew Schneider reached on an error and scored thanks to Nathan Fisher doubling to left field. Reese Hackett doubled to the opposite field to score Fisher and then came home from a Liam Martin single making the score 3-1 in DelVal's favor.

With runners on first and second in the third, Evan Scally reached on a fielder's choice scoring Jonathan Drews. King's scored two in the bottom of the inning inching within one of the Aggies.

In the eighth, James Miskanic singled out to left field scoring Gavin Migliori who earlier reached on an error. With two outs, Schneider also singled to left to drive in Miskanic increasing their lead to 7-3. King's tied the game and quickly grew a three-run lead off three Aggie bullpen pitchers over the bottom half of the inning.

The Aggies got two runners on in the ninth but were unable to convert, getting swept by the Monarchs.
