Delaware Valley Baseball Gets Back In The Win Column On The Road Against Eastern

St. Davids, PA.- The Delaware Valley baseball took the field on Wednesday, April 10th when they Traveled to Eastern University to face off against the Eagles in a MAC crossover showdown. The Aggies came into the week on a six-game losing streak coming off getting swept against MAC rival King's. Eastern came into today's match up coming off a 9-8 win on the road yesterday against Marywood. Delaware Valley would get back in the win column with a dominant 15-6 victory over the Eagles of Eastern.

Ethan Saxe would get the starting pitching nod on the mound for Delaware Valley.

Delaware Valley would start off the scoring with a three-run run to deep left-center field from Hank Beilen to take a 3-0 lead in the top of the 1st.

In the top of the 3rd inning, James Miskanic would hit an RBI single up the middle scoring Johnathan Drews to extend the lead to 4-0

After two scoreless innings on the mound from Saxe, Zak Clark would come in relief in the bottom of the 3rd inning.

Eastern would get on the board in the bottom of the 3rd inning with an RBI triple, followed by a sacrifice fly to cut the deficit 4-2.

Delaware Valley would notch two more runs in the top of the 4th inning as Jimmy Kelly and Hank Beilen scored on an error to retake a four-run lead.

Connor Newman would enter the game for DelVal in the bottom of the 4th inning.

The Eagles would score two runs in the inning with an RBI double and a sacrifice fly to cut the lead to 6-4.

Ryan Pittari would come in for Newman and pitch for Delaware Valley in the bottom of the 5th. 

Eastern would then make it a one-run game as the Eagles would hit their third sacrifice fly of the game to cut the Aggies lead down to one.

In the top of the 6th, Johnathan Drews and James Miskanic would both hit into RBi fielder's choices to score Liam Martin and Hank Beilen to give the Aggies an 8-5 lead. Later in the inning, Ridge Watson would hit a massive two-run RBI single to make it a 10-5 ballgame.

Lucas Santise would enter the game on the bump in the bottom half of the inning where he threw a scoreless inning.

Delaware Valley would go on to score five runs in the top of the 7th on five base hits to take a 15-6 lead.

Aiden Devlin would come into the game on the mound for the Aggies in the bottom half of the inning. Eastern would go on to score a run and make it a 15-6 ballgame. 

Nick Covolus would close out the game for Delaware Valley in the final inning and secure the win for the Aggies.

DelVal baseball improves their record to 10-14 on the season and 8-6 in non conference play. Delaware Valley will be back in action on Friday, April 12th against Arcadia on the road.
