Madison, NJ – Delaware Valley baseball snagged an early lead but fell in the final frame to FDU-Florham 6-5 on Friday afternoon.
The Aggies loaded the bases in the third inning off a pair of singles and
Andrew Schneider getting hit by a pitch in the third.
Hank Bielen then walked scoring
Nathan Fisher.
Gavin Migliori reached on a fielder's choice but everyone was safe including
Reese Hackett at home putting DelVal up 2-0.
In the fourth, the Devils plated a run before Migliori mashed his second home run of the season to left field scoring Bielen who previously doubled to left center.
FDU scored three runs in the sixth to knot the game at four a-piece before starting pitcher
Ethan Saxe was replaced by
Dalton Moore.
Hackett singled to open the seventh inning before being moved over thanks to a sacrifice bunt by
Liam Martin. Bielen then singled to center scoring Hackett. The Devils tied the game once again during their time at the plate.
The Devils put two men on in the bottom of the ninth and Chippenda singled to center field scoring the winning run.
Dalton Moore was responsible for the runner and got dealt the loss.
Following the loss, the Aggies fall to 12-23 overall and 3-16 in the MAC Freedom. DelVal hosts FDU-Florham tomorrow at noon and 3:00 p.m. for senior day and their 2024 season finale.
