Reading, Pa. – Delaware Valley baseball fell behind early to Alvernia and couldn't recover falling 16-7 to the Golden Wolves on Wednesday afternoon.
Alvernia plated nine runs off ten hits through the first four innings all off Aggie starting pitcher
Nathan Fisher.
John Slover relieved Fisher for the remainder of the afternoon notching a career-high seven strikeouts.
With two outs in the fifth,
Blake Ramos doubled down the left line before first-year
Jared Ecenroad hit his first career blast over the left field fence to put the Aggies on the board.
In the sixth, with runners on first and second,
Jonathan Drews sent out a three-run home run scoring
Hank Bielen and
Liam Martin. Alvernia plated three runs during their time up stretching their lead 12-5.
After the Golden Wolves grew an 11-run lead Martin doubled down the right line driving in
Ridge Watson and Ecenroad. Bielen popped up to the second basemen to end the game 16-7.
Following the loss, the Aggies fall to 12-22 overall and wrap up their 2024 season this coming weekend with a home-and-home series against FDU-Florham.
