Annville, Pa. – The Lebanon Valley Flying Dutchmen took both games to Saturday take the season series from Delaware Valley baseball 14-4 and 10-4.
The Aggies piled on three runs in the first inning with
Reese Hackett singling through the left side and moved to second by a sacrifice bunt from
Liam Martin.
Hank Bielen then hit a single to right center scoring Hackett.
Gavin Migliori hit his first home run of the season to give DelVal a 3-0 lead.
The Flying Dutchmen plated ten runs in the third of five hits and three Aggie errors. Starter
Derek Cannon gave up five earned and was dealt the loss, he was relieved by
Connor Newman who tossed the remaining 3.2 innings.
In the fifth with
Liam Martin on second, Bielen hit an infield single and Martin scored on an error by the shortstop. LVC scored two a pair in the bottom of the inning to take game one 14-4.
Jonathan Drews kicked off inning two of game two with a double out to right center. Migliori tripled to the right center fence during the next at-bat to score Drews.
James Miskanic then doubled down the right line taking a 2-0 lead with no outs. Fetterman homered to center field, cutting the Aggies lead in half during their turn at the plate.
LVC scored four runs in the third to take a 5-2 advantage.
In the fifth, Martin reached on a fielder's choice and eventually scored when Drews hit a single to center field.
Game two starter
Dalton Moore was replaced at the mound by
John Slover after the sixth. Slover gave up five runs, four earned in his 2.0 innings.
Aggie baseball falls to 12-19 overall and 3-13 in the MAC Freedom. DelVal is back in action tomorrow, Sunday, April 21 taking on No. 19 Misericordia University at home.
