Kelchner and Savering Score in Loss to Arcadia

Doylestown, Pa. – Ryley Savering and Luke Kelchner were the only goal scorers for Delaware Valley men's lacrosse, falling 14-2 to Arcadia University on Wednesday night at home.

The Knight's Billy Burton opened the scoring just 53 seconds into the game on a rebound opportunity after Jim Murphy saved the first shot. Arcadia netted four more in the first quarter, the final one a man-up after George Evanick and Jack Sprinkle received penalties for offsides.

Arcadia scored four even-strength goals in quarter two to build up a 9-0 lead going into the break.

Murphy saved a shot before handing it off to Ryan Lindberg who then passed up to Kelchner firing a shot from his own 40-yard line into a vacated net to put the Aggies on the board. Two more Knights goals followed going ahead 12-1.

Five minutes into the fourth, Arcadia's William Burke scored a man-up goal after Sean Miller was sent off for a 30-second penalty. A turnover caused by Kelchner sent Chris Marren in the other direction to find Savering who scored his 18th tally of the season. The final goal by Arcadia was scored with 2:14 to go sealing their 14-2 victory.

With the loss, the Aggies fall to 4-11 on the season and 0-4 in conference play. They next hit the turf on Saturday, April 20th hosting FDU-Florham at 1:00 p.m.
