Doylestown, Pa. – Ryley Savering and
Luke Kelchner were the only goal scorers for Delaware Valley men's lacrosse, falling 14-2 to Arcadia University on Wednesday night at home.
The Knight's Billy Burton opened the scoring just 53 seconds into the game on a rebound opportunity after
Jim Murphy saved the first shot. Arcadia netted four more in the first quarter, the final one a man-up after
George Evanick and
Jack Sprinkle received penalties for offsides.
Arcadia scored four even-strength goals in quarter two to build up a 9-0 lead going into the break.
Murphy saved a shot before handing it off to
Ryan Lindberg who then passed up to Kelchner firing a shot from his own 40-yard line into a vacated net to put the Aggies on the board. Two more Knights goals followed going ahead 12-1.
Five minutes into the fourth, Arcadia's William Burke scored a man-up goal after
Sean Miller was sent off for a 30-second penalty. A turnover caused by Kelchner sent
Chris Marren in the other direction to find Savering who scored his 18
th tally of the season. The final goal by Arcadia was scored with 2:14 to go sealing their 14-2 victory.
With the loss, the Aggies fall to 4-11 on the season and 0-4 in conference play. They next hit the turf on Saturday, April 20
th hosting FDU-Florham at 1:00 p.m.
