DOYLESTOWN, PA.- DelVal baseball hosted Arcadia in a home MAC Confernce double header on April 14th at Frank Wolfgang Field. The Aggies would go on to lose both games to the Knights in dominant fashion.
Pitching for Delaware Valley in game one is
Derek Cannon.
Arcadia would start the game off strong and take a 3-0 lead early in the top of the 1st inning.
The Knights offense would stay hot with two more runs scored in the top of the 2nd inning to take a 5-0 lead.
After a lead-off single for Arcadia in the top of the 3rd inning,
Ethan Saxe entered the game on the mound. Arcadia would go on to score three runs on four base hits to extend their lead to 8-0.
The strong offensive performance by the Knights offense continued in the 4th inning with two more runs to take a 10-0 lead.
Delaware Valley would get on the board in the bottom half of the 4th inning with a three-run home run to right field by
Liam Martin.
Connor Newman entered the game for Delaware Valley in relief in the 5th inning. Arcadia would make it five consecutive innings in a row with a run scored as they notched one run to take an 11-3 lead.
Ridge Watson would hit an RBI single for the Aggies in the bottom of the 5th inning to cut the deficit 11-4.
Three more runs scored by the Knights made it a 14-4 ballgame in the 6th inning.
In the bottom half of the inning, Delaware Valley scored three runs off a sacrifice fly from
Ridge Watson and an RBI double from
Nathan Fisher.Â
Nick Covolus stepped on the mound for DelVal in the 7th and final inning of play Arcadia would score three runs in the top of the 7th and take game one of the series.
Pitching for Delaware Valley in game two is
Connor Esbenshade.
Arcadia would get the scoring started in the top of the first inning with an RBI single to take a 1-0 lead early.
Hak Beilen would hit a solo home run to deep left field to tie the game up at 1-1 in the bottom of the 1st. Later on in the inning,
James Miskanic would knock in an RBI single scoring Johnathan Drews to give the Aggies a 2-1 lead.
Arcadia would tie up the game in the top of the 3rd with an RBI single. The Knights would then score six runs in a row on seven base hits to take a commanding 7-2 lead.
Reuben Costin would enter the game in relief for Delaware Valley in the 4th inning of play. Arcadia would extend their lead in the top of the 4th inning as they would score two runs and take a 9-2 lead.
DelVal would answer with two runs scored in the bottom half of the inning to make it 9-4.
With the bases loaded,
Dalton Moore would enter the game on the mound in relief.
An Arcadia grand slam would give the Knights a 13-4 lead in the top of the 5th inning.
Delval would score four runs in the bottom half of the inning, which would feature RBI singles from
Lucas Santise,
Samuele Mattia, and Hank Beilen.
Arcadia would respond with two runs in the top of the 6th inning to extend their lead to 15-8Â
.Â
The Knights would run away with things in the 6th inning when Arcadia's offense exploded for eight runs on six hits and four hit-by pitches. During the big inning for the away team, Ryan Zimmerman entered the game on the mound to try and lessen the damage. Arcadia would go on to take game two of the doubleheader by a score of 23-8.
The Aggies will be back in action on April 16th at home against Clarks Summit.
