Men's Lacrosse Falls to Misericordia 14-6

Doylestown, Pa. - Delaware Valley dropped their second consecutive conference loss to Misericordia University Wednesday evening by a score of 14-6.

Frederick Offenburger fired the first shot of the game answered by the Cougars keeper Dindino on the opening faceoff. Misericordia struck twice just 15 seconds apart to take an early lead five minutes in. The Aggies didn't sit back and answered with back-to-back goals of their own by Jack Sprinkle and Ryley Savering. With three minutes remaining in the first quarter, the Cougars scored a pair of goals going ahead 4-2 before Savering netted his second of the game with 1:11 on the clock.

Over the course of eight minutes, Misericordia scored three goals to go ahead 7-3 before Sprinkle scored his second to try to capture some energy. DelVal turned the ball over with 3:44 left leading to another Cougar tally to go into halftime up 8-4.

Misericordia opened the second half cashing in on another Aggie turnover and scored another on a rebound opportunity off a save by Jim Murphy going up by six. Sprinkle scored a minute later on a man-up chance off a slashing call. Chris Marren cashed in after a pair of Aggie shots by Kieran Schneider and George Evanick went wide with 5:40 left in the third.

The Cougars scored three more over the final fifteen minutes all at even strength despite there being five penalties called. Murphy made eight stops in net for DelVal playing all 60 minutes.

Following the loss, the Aggies fell to 4-8 overall and 0-2 in the MAC Freedom. They next hit the field on Sunday, April 14 at 1:00 p.m. visiting the Lebanon Valley College Dutchmen in Annville, Pa.
