DOYLESTOWN, Pa. – The Delaware Valley baseball team hosted Stevens for a single nine-inning game prior to making the trip to the Ducks to round out the three-game series. Despite an early 3-1 lead, the Aggies gave up six runs over the course of six innings unable to bounce back to drop the contest, 10-6.
The Ducks were the first on the board putting up one run with two outs in the top of the first inning followed up by fouling out to put the Aggies at bat.
Liam Martin started off the lineup for the Aggies with a hit to the second baseman. A fumbled pass put Martin at second with
Jonathan Drews at the plate. Drews singled to the pitcher, but advance Martin home to even the score, 1-1.
James Miskanic took the plate in the bottom of the second with two men on base for the Aggies. Miskanic grounded out on the sacrifice bunt, but advanced Andrew Schnieder to second and
Nathan Fisher to third with Martin back up to bat. Martin singled to center field sending both runners home to put the Aggies ahead 3-1.
The scoring slowed for the Aggies through the next six innings. The Ducks loaded the bases to start the third inning with
Connor Esbenshade hitting the batter to reload the bases and cut the Ducks deficit to one, 3-2. A double to center field ensued sending three runners home for a 5-3 lead.
The score remained knotted at 5-3 through the next four innings with Stevens putting up two more runs to start the seventh frame taking a four-run lead, 7-3. Schnieder reached base in the bottom of the seventh on a walk eventually advancing to second on a ground out to second base.
Jonathan Drews flied out to left field leaving Schneider stranded to end the inning.
Stevens extended its lead to seven in the top of the eighth with Eli Somers batting in Christian Krese followed by Michael Reyes doubling to left field to bring home both Somers and Ben Tobio for the 10-3 lead. The Ducks left one on base putting DelVal back at the plate for the bottom of the eighth where momentum picked up.

Gavin Migliori and
Evan Scally all singled to load the bases with
Reese Hackett next in the lineup. A sacrifice fly by Hackett was fumbled by the right fielder advancing Bielen home immediately followed by a
Nathan Fisher double to right field allowing both Migliori and Scally to score cutting the deficit in half, 10-5.
The Ducks managed to get outs on the next two batters, but DelVal's defense was ready going one, two, three in the top of the ninth to send the Aggies right back on offense at the top of the lineup. Martin stepped up to the plate hitting a single, but advancing to second on an error. A wild pitch hit
Jonathan Drews and advanced Martin to put men on first and third with Bielen at the plate. Bielen hit a sacrifice fly to right field to bring Martin home and bring the Ducks lead down to only four, 10-6. The Aggies quickly loaded the bases with singles from Scally and Migliori putting
Reese Hackett at the plate. Stevens defense stayed tight striking out both Hackett and Fisher for the win.
