READING, Pa. – The Delaware Valley women's lacrosse team cut a seven-goal deficit to just one, but struggled to gain the lead over Albright ultimately dropping the contest 15-8.
Albright came out strong to star the first quarter putting up seven unanswered goals through the first 12 minutes. With just two minutes to play

Susan Rawding to put the Aggies on the board. Just a minute later,
Anna Kimbel passed to Kathryn Martin to cut the deficit down to five, 7-2.
Del Val's scoring streak extended into the second with
Ashley Birmingham converting with the man-up advantage. Rawding netted her second goal of the game, thanks to the help of
Kyra McKeegan, to put the Aggies behind by just three goals at the end of the first half, 7-4.
McKeegan and Rawding combine for a 2-0 run for the Aggies through the first six minutes to bring DelVal within a single-goal of tying, 7-6. Albright offense picked back up with a 4-goal run to pull ahead 11-6 at the end of the third frame.
Samantha Charles and Kimbel netted scores for the Aggies in the third, but Albright held the 4-2 advantage in the frame to walk away with the 15-8 victory.
Birmingham led the Aggies in shots with 10 total, placing seven on goal. The senior also led the team in ground balls scooping up six. Rawding netted a hat trick in the contest, her first of the season. Charles led in draw controls with four.
Emily Drake played all 60 minutes in net totaling 13 saves.
DelVal returns to action for their home-opener this Tuesday, Mar. 5 when they host Marietta College at noon.
