Aggies Drop Men's Lacrosse Contest to Goucher 15-7

Baltimore, Md. - Delaware Valley men's lacrosse was dealt their fourth loss of the season by Goucher College 15-7 on Saturday afternoon.

The Gopher hit the post behind keeper Jim Murphy and the Aggies went down the field to score the first tally of the game by Kieran Schneider. Goucher went on to score three consecutive goals in the first quarter before all at even strength, the Aggies did not take any penalties over the full 60 minutes. Jack Sprinkle scored with 52 seconds left after a shot clock violation on Goucher.

Schneider tied the game 3-3 two minutes into the second quarter but just over a minute later the Gopher retook the one-goal advantage. Murphy made five more saves before Goucher was able to find the back of the net again, scoring three goals in less than two minutes to take a 7-3 lead into half-time.

Eight seconds into the second half, Frederick Offenburger won the faceoff and netted his first goal, point, and shot of the season. Later with four minutes to go after Goucher netted three more, Sprinkle scored his second of the game. The Gophers led 13-5 after the third frame.

In the fourth, after Sprinkle fired a shot wide, George Evanick scored on a man-up chance, and less than a minute later, Sprinkle connected with Ryley Savering for the final DelVal tally. Murphy made a season-high 20 saves, tying his career-best total.

DelVal now holds a record of 2-4 and will look back to get in the win column after four consecutive losses at home on Wednesday, March 20 vs Immaculata University.
