GWYNEDD VALLEY, PA. - Delaware Valley men's lacrosse fell behind early and eventually fell to Gwynedd Mercy University 15-6 on Wednesday evening.
The Aggies turned the ball over which led to an early Griffins goal just under a minute into the game. Around the ten-minute mark, Gwynedd scored two more goals just 50 seconds apart, they scored a fourth while a man-down at 5:11.
In the second, after the Griffins scored their fifth, Ryley Savering found the back of the net to get the Aggies on the board, Chris Marren picked up the assist. The Giffens capitalized on on penalties and scored three man-up goals over the remainder of the quarter.
Down 10-1 Jack Sprinkle scored his first of the game with five minutes to go in the third to capture some momentum for DelVal.
The Griffins retook the energy and opened the final frame with three straight goals before Sprinkle connected with Savering for his second of the game. Luke Kletcher and Marren scored exactly a minute apart now 14-5, Kieran Schneider picked up an assist on the Marren tally. Before time expired the squads traded goals, Sprinkle scored for DelVal.
Following the loss, the Aggies fall to 2-3 overall. They next travel to Baltimore Maryland to take on Goucher College on Saturday, March 16 at 3:00 p.m.
