Women’s Lacrosse Falls to Stockton

GALLOWAY, N.J. – The Delaware Valley women's lacrosse team took their first road trip of the season visiting South Jersey to face the Stockton Osprey on Wednesday evening. An early six-goal deficit after the first quarter sealed the Aggies fate dropping the contest 20-1.

Stockton came out strong putting up six goals in the first quarter holding the Aggies offense to just a single shot in the frame. Emily Drake held steady in the cage making two saves.

DelVal held off the Osprey offense in the first minute of the second quarter making room for Ashley Birmingham to put the Aggies on the board with an unassisted shot making its way past the Stockton goal-keeper to cut the deficit to five, 6-1.

Stockton held the Aggies scoreless through the remainder of the game putting up 14 more goals. DelVal got some looks taking six shots through the final three quarters.

The Aggies led the Osprey in draw controls, 15-10. Birmingham led the stat sheet for DelVal with one goal, five shots, three shots on goal and six draw controls. Drake played all 60 minutes in the net totaling six saves.

DelVal returns to action this Saturday, Mar. 2 for their final of three-straight road games at Albright. Game time is set for 11 a.m.
