DOYLESTOWN, Pa. – The Delaware Valley men's basketball team shot 38.1% from beyond the arc with four Aggies converting the long ball to keep pace with Stevens until the very end narrowly dropping the contest to the Ducks 71-65. The Aggies were led by senior
Goddy Marc with 17 points comprised of 7-of-13 shooting including 3-of-7 from deep.
Stevens got on the board first with DelVal matching each basket over the next six minutes led by four points from
Godly Marc to knot the score at 10-10. The Ducks fouled
Zoelin Pair sending him to the line shooting 2-of-2 to put the Aggies ahead for the first time and start a 6-0 run giving DelVal the 16-10 advantage and forcing a Stevens timeout with just under 12 minutes left on the clock.
The Ducks used a 5-0 run to crawl back within one point, but
Jordan Gombs and
Justin Ramsey-Blythe paired together to end the run with a short 4-0 spurt to put the Aggies ahead by five, 20-15. The Aggies held Stevens scoreless for nearly two minutes until the Ducks knocked down a three to cut the deficit down to two, 20-18, and force an Aggies timeout with 5:30 remaining in the half.
After fending off the Ducks defense for an entire minute, the Aggies regained possession of the ball falling in the hands of
Tyriq Toney-Bailey for the three to push the lead back up to five, 23-18. Stevens quickly picked up the momentum with a 7-2 run to even the score, 25-25.
Zoelin Pair immediately followed up with the layup to put DelVal back on top, 27-25. Tied once again at 27 apiece,
Antonio Redding hit the three to put the Ducks in a three-point chase in the final minute, 30-27. Stevens finished on a 5-0 run sinking a three at the buzzer to take a two-point advantage into the half. 32-30.
Redding and
Godly Marc paired to regain a single-point advantage for the Aggies to start the second half, 33-32. Stevens responded with a 10-0 run to take its largest lead of the game, 42-33. Redding and
Goddy Marc combined for 3-of-3 shooting from beyond the arc over the next two minutes to keep the deficit in single digits but a 15-point effort from the Ducks extended the advantage into double-digits, 57-44, for the first time with just over 10 minutes left to play.

Goddy Marc and
Zoelin Pair combine for six points thanks to a three pointer by Marc and an and one layup from Pair to bring the deficit down to 10, 62-52, with 7:42 on the game clock.
Kamal Johnson followed up on the action converting the jumper followed up with a three-pointer at the shot clock to take the Ducks' lead back down to single digits, 62-57.
Goddy Marc continued strong from beyond the arc for the Aggies sinking yet another three as the shot clock buzzer sounded to bring DelVal back within two points, 62-60, with five minutes to play. The Ducks held the 9-5 edge through the final minutes to escape with the narrow 71-65 victory.
