Delaware Valley Men's Basketball Falls To Arcadia At Home

DOYLESTOWN, Pa.  

Delaware Valley men's basketball dropped a MAC Freedom match up against the Knights of Arcadia on Saturday, February 10th by a score of 75-52.   The Aggies would open up the scoring as sophomore Antonio Reading made a drive-in layup to give the Aggies an early lead. After the Knights tied the game, the Aggies would retake the lead as sophomore Rasheem Dearry made a drive-in layup with 16:47 remaining in the first half. Arcadia would then go on a 10-0 run and take a 12-4 lead with 15:13 remaining in the first half. After a full-time out, senior Godly Marc would connect on a three-point shot to cut the deficit 14-7. After an Arcadia 4-0 run, first-year Kamal Johnson would make both of his free throws, shortly followed by an Antonio Redding made-layup with 11:07 remaining in the first half.

After missing an entire month due to injury, junior Jordan Gombs would return to the Aggies lineup and would score his first basket since his return with 9:07 left on the clock. Arcadia would continue its impressive offensive performance in the first half as they would increase their lead 27-16. Junior Zoelin Pair responded with a made layup for the Aggies as he cut the deficit to nine. After a long scoring drought for both teams, Arcadia would go on a 5-0 run to take a 35-20 lead with two minutes remaining in the half. After an offensive drought that lasted over five minutes, senior Goddy Marc would connect on a mid-range jump shot to cut the deficit. Arcadia would lead Delaware Valley 37-22 at the half.

Arcadia would start the scoring in the second half with a made dunk. Delaware Valley would respond with three consecutive layups by Zoelin Pair, Justin Ramsey-Blythe, and Jordan Gombs to cut the Arcadia lead to eleven. Arcadia would go on a 5-0 run and take a 43-28 with 16:32 remaining. After a Jordan Gombs layup, Arcadia would connect on a three-point shot to take a nineteen-point lead. With less than thirteen minutes remaining Goddy Marc would score a driving layup to cut the Arcadia lead to 51-32. After both the Knights and the Aggies would exchange three-point makes, Arcadia would make another three-point shot to take a twenty-three-point lead with 11:04 remaining. 

Delaware Valley had no answer for the offensive firepower of Arcadia as the Knights would take a 64-35-point lead with nine minutes left in the game. Kamal Johnson converted on an and-one layup with 5:25 remaining in the game as Delaware Valley trailed 70-44. First-year Brandon Bradford would counter an Arcadia made-layup with a three-point make to cut the deficit. In the final five minutes of the game, Arcadia would finish on a 5-3 run and defeat the Aggies by a score of 75-52.
